Geotourism Visit by French Tourists

From 1 to 6 June 2026, a group of French geotourism visitors, in collaboration with Universitas Serang Raya (UNSERA), conducted a geotourism visit to the geological and cultural heritage sites of the Bayah Dome National Geopark. The program was designed to introduce participants to the geopark's outstanding geological features, rich cultural diversity, and living local traditions.

The geosites visited included Mount Luhur and the Citorek Depression, the Cirotan Mineralization Site, and the Langir Cave Complex. In addition, participants explored several important cultural heritage sites, including the Citorek Kasepuhan Traditional Community, the Cibedug Kasepuhan and Archaeological Site, the Bongkok Kasepuhan, the Neglasari Kasepuhan, and the former Cikotok Gold Mine.

This geotourism program provided participants with a comprehensive understanding of the integration of geological heritage, cultural diversity, and local wisdom within the Bayah Dome National Geopark. It also strengthened international academic collaboration and promoted the geopark as a destination for sustainable geotourism, education, and scientific research.
