Implementation of a Joint Research Program between the Department of Geological Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Pakuan University, and the School of Geography and Planning, Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou, China.

On Saturday–Sunday, 11–12 July 2026, the Bayah Dome National Geopark Management Board supported and participated in a joint research program conducted by the Department of Geological Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Pakuan University, in collaboration with the School of Geography and Planning, Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou, China.

The research focused on palynology (pollen analysis) at Karang Taraje, Darmasari Village, Bayah District. The study aimed to generate scientific data on pollen characteristics and reconstruct the area's paleoenvironment, thereby contributing to a better understanding of the geological and environmental history of the Bayah Dome region.

The Bayah Dome National Geopark Management Board expresses its sincere appreciation to the Department of Geological Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Pakuan University, and the School of Geography and Planning, Sun Yat-sen University, for their commitment and valuable contribution to advancing research on the geological diversity of the Bayah Dome National Geopark.

The Management Board also extends its highest appreciation to all institutions and researchers who have contributed to educational and scientific development within the Bayah Dome National Geopark. It is hoped that this collaboration will inspire greater participation from universities and research institutions, both in Indonesia and abroad, in supporting research, education, and sustainable geopark development.

The Bayah Dome National Geopark is not only rich in geodiversity, but also possesses a unique and exceptionally complete geological record, making it an outstanding destination for scientific research, education, and sustainable geotourism.
