Bayah Dome
Bayah Dome is already well known internationally in geological terms, since Van Bemmelen, a Dutch geologist, wrote a book about the Geology of Indonesia that was published in 1949, in which he discussed the formation of Bayah Dome. Bayah Dome (Bayah Dome) is a structure or natural landscape of a volcano that is Neogen to Quaternary (23 - 0.01 million years ago). The center part of the Bayah Dome consists of rocks from volcanic eruptions that formed during that period of time.

In the Bayah Dome area, gold, silver and other valuable metal ore deposits are also formed, thus it is also known as the "Gold District", so this area has been known as a gold mine since the colonial era, and mining activities are still ongoing in some places to this day. In the northern-central part, there is a depression zone (valley) known as the Citorek Depression Zone with a generally pyroclastic tuff rock composition. So internationally, the name Bayah Dome is well known, especially among geologists, and is known to have the Cikotok and Pongkor gold mineralization types.
